Twitter Interaction with YC Founder Paul Graham on learning programming

Paul was actively updating his programming mentoring experience with his kids throughout the corona lock-down period. Following are few tweets through which he conveyed his perspective.

1. Copy-pasting as a learning method in programming.

At a certain stage it could probably be a useful exercise to modify programs written by other people. But not too early.

4. Imparting Bad habits by inexperienced teaching vs self-learning

That was definitely not the case with me. I taught myself to program, and my code was spaghetti at first. Structured programming, as they then called it, was a real eye-opener when I encountered it in college.
