- Exercise breaks,
- Non-exercise breaks, and
- No breaks on learning–
in their learning.
Three 5-minute breaks were equally distributed throughout a 50-minute computer-based video lecture.
- The exercise breaks group performed a series of calisthenic exercises;
- the non-exercise breaks group played a computer game;
- the no breaks group watched the lecture without breaks.
Mind-wandering questions measured attention during the lecture.
Findings
- Exercise breaks promoted attention throughout the lecture compared to no breaks and non-exercise breaks, and resulted in superior learning when assessed on immediate and delayed tests.
- The exercise breaks group also endorsed higher ratings for narrator clarity and perceived understanding than the other two groups.

Confusion and learning complex information
Most of us assume that confidence and certainty are preferred over uncertainty when it comes to learning complex information. But a new study shows that confusion when learning can be beneficial if it is properly induced, effectively regulated and ultimately resolved.
This study is much similar to the theme of Desirable difficulty hypothesis by Robert Bjork. Here confusion can be caused by the effort on problem solving.

3) Entrepreneurship (Immediate feedback is not possible) #Learning #skills #entrepreneurship #sportAccording to Daniel Kahneman “Acquisition of skills requires a regular environment, an adequate opportunity to practice, and rapid and unequivocal feedback about the correctness of thoughts and actions.”
The possibility of natural feedback varies from domain to domain.
If we leave a learning system to itself, it may not produce effective results because of the inherently built in inefficiencies of the feedback system related to that particular domain.
Following are three domain embedded feedback examples.
- Sports (Immediate feedback is possible)
- Academics (Immediate feedback is possible by design)
- Entrepreneurship (Immediate feedback is not possible)
Those domains with optimized feedback systems will produce fast learning effects.

Neuro-scientists know a lot about how our brains learn new things, but not much about how they choose what to focus on while they learn.
According to this study, a part of the brain called the paraventricular thalamus, or PVT, serves as a kind of gatekeeper, making sure that the brain identifies and tracks the most salient details of a situation.

The information regarding entrepreneurs social network will provide education and recommendations on how entrepreneurs can focus on weaknesses or under-utilized aspects of their current social network, as well as areas to work on development and growth of more meaningful and deeper social networks.
The study is focusing on two important metrics:
